About Thomas Lighting

In 1998 The GENLYTE Group Inc. and the Lighting Group of Thomas Industries Inc. joined forces to create a new entity. At the time, the company was positioned as one of the largest lighting manufacturers in North America.

In 2008, The GENLYTE Group Inc. and its associated company and brands were purchased by Philips, and in 2010, the Thomas Lighting line became part of Philips Consumer Luminaires, a business unit of Philips North America.

In 2016 Thomas Lighting was acquired by Elk Group International, a leading manufacturer of decorative lighting and home décor products. ELK is a premier designer and importer of indoor and outdoor residential, designer and commercial lighting fixtures, decorative accessories and furniture. An award winning team of international designers and engineers ensure that each product is created with uncompromising detail and unparalleled design.
