Description: These pieces are authentic reproductions of late 19th century Victorian gas lights (notice the gas cocks on the arms). Due to the mass production techniques that the industrial revolution created ornamentation in many and varied forms is evident on Victorian styles. These pieces are no exception with reeded components, cast gas locks, and finely detailed clover scrolls. The glass is acid-etched with a flower pattern over a grave` finish. The polished brass is buffed with a jewelers rouge to add luster and depth; while the Bronzed Gold Leaf is leafed and oxidized to add bronze accents and texture.

Some of our designs, including the Chancery collection, are exact reproductions of period lighting.

Through-out our product line you will find several designs that utilize iconographic images that have profound symbolic meaning derived from myth and legend such as the gargoyle-adorned lantern from our Carcassonne Collection. From formal to casual, gothic to contemporary, and rustic to refined, Framburg handcrafts one of the broadest product lines. Often we seek to capture the essence of a genre or design philosophy without being confined by its methods or materials. The Fin de Siecle Collection is inspired by the organic elements of Art Nouveau styling.

Each Framburg fixture is the beneficiary of refinements in metal forming, finishing, design, and engineering techniques that have been refined through the generations. Not long ago designs were rendered painstakingly by hand. Today, Framburg designs are modeled on a computer and are the distillation of countless iterations that allow us to achieve superior form, proportion and scale. Our manufacturing capabilities allow us to produce fixtures of superior quality, thematic consistency, and design integrity. Our capabilities also allow us to create a virtually infinite array of custom designs. While much of the design process is aided by computers, much of themetal-working and finishing is done by hand. Tubing and sheet brass are hand-bent and components are hand-rubbed or hand-polished. The result is a product of enduring quality and authenticity.
